Kamshet is a village town in Maval Taluka located in north-western parts of Pune. This locality comes under the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayat. It is a beautiful place and has a number of small villages which are built in the tradition style. The locality has numerous tourist spots such as Shinde Wadi Hills, Kondeshwar Temple, pawna Lake, Bhairi Caves, Bedse Caves etc. It is also famous for paragliding experience. It is located 48.7 km from district headquarters Pune and 102 km from state capital Mumbai. This locality serves as a railhead for many villages such as Bhaja, Uksan and Kamra in the western ghats. It is 23 km from the twin hill stations of Khandala and Lonavala from Kamshet and is easily accessible by road and rail from Mumbai and Pune. It is a beautiful hill station in Maharashtra located about 22000 feet above sea level. AH 47 and NH 48 is passing through the centre of the locality. Kusgaon Road and Pavana Nagar-Kamshet Road are the two internal roads of the locality which further link with Mumbai Highway.

Vadgaon, Kanhe, Malavli, Talegaon etc. are its nearby railway stations. However, Vadgaon Railway Station is the major railway station which is located at a distance of 10.5 km via NH 48.
Pune International Airport is located at a distance of 57 km via Mumbai-Pandharpur Road.
A regular MSRTC and PMPML buses run from Kamshet to Bhaja, Uksan and Kamra villages.
